Marcus Tooze

Partner

Marcus has always had a passion for real estate and bought his first rental property in 2002. He founded GIS Workshop, Inc. (a software company) in 1999 where he honed his business development and strategic operations skills. After successfully exiting GIS Workshop, Inc., Marcus partnered with Aaron to establish and build Simplestate.

Co-founder of Simplestate, Aaron began investing in real estate in 2014 and has since built a diversified portfolio exceeding $42M across three states. He leads the firm’s lending division and provides strategic oversight across all business lines, driving growth, operational excellence, and long-term vision for the company.

Matt has been active in real estate finance since 2010. He previously built and managed a $60M fund and has financed and consulted on loans totaling over $450 million. As VP of Capital Development at Simplestate, he leads investor relationships and capital formation.

We provide financing to experienced real estate operators, with Simplestate holding a first-position lien on every property. Borrowers’ monthly interest payments flow directly to the fund, delivering investors consistent, passive distributions backed by highly secure capital.

The loan process is simple and transparent: borrowers submit an online application, and Simplestate often funds 100% of the purchase price. Our internal underwriting team vets each borrower and loan approval is based on the asset. Once approved, loan documents are finalized and funds are sent directly to the title company. Throughout the duration of the loan, we monitor performance, issue monthly statements and collect interest. At loan maturity, remaining interest and principal are collected, completing the cycle of secure, predictable income for investors.
